My wife, Becky, and I have been at St. Paul's since mid March 2024 and are "hooked". We were both retired and living the nomad life of traveling to the state of Texas for the winter months and back to Ohio in the summer. Since being asked to serve as St. Paul's pastor though, our traveling days are over for a while. We are blessed to be part of this congregation and community .
Lydna Carey joined St. Paul's staff in 2015 as our Church Secretary. Lynda has extensive office manager and bookkeeping experience and retired from those full time duties in 2009. She is also a current volunteer with the AARP Foundation as a Tax Preparer. In 1985 Lynda moved to Ohio from the San Francisco & Simi Valley Area in California and has lived the "rural life" in Damascus Township since 1990. Lynda has two sons who are independant and successful in life. We welcome Lynda to our staff and look forward to her contributions to keep our office running smoothly.
Peggy Arroyo joined our staff as a full time organist in January 2019 after previously serving as our part-time organist. St. Paul's is delighted that she shares her musical talent with us. Although Peggy is currently a member at St. Augustine Catholic Church here in Napoleon where she has shared her musical talent on the organ for the past 30 years at the 8 a.m. Mass, Peggy states, "it was more like coming home for me", as St. Paul UMC was her Church when growing up as a child and she was confirmed right here at St. Paul's. Peggy has been married to Chico Arroyo for 18 years and together they share and enjoy 4 adult children. Peggy says "thank you for the warm welcome I've received here at St. Paul's and I only hope you enjoy the music I can provide as much as I enjoy providing it every Sunday". St. Paul's welcomes you on board Peggy!
Chris Adams joined our staff as the new maintenance and groundskeeper at St. Paul's in May 2022. Chris is the owner of LaserBright Carpet cleaning, so cleaning and maintainance are top priority for Chris and it shows! Chris does a great job of keeping our Church looking very orderly and clean. Outside maintenance is part of Chris's duties and whether it's snow in the winter or grass in the spring/summer, Chris does an exellent job of making and keeping our grounds looking great!
