PLEASE NOTE
The United Methodist Women have discontinued meeting as of 2024.
The following is a brief history:
The first recorded meeting of the women of St. Paul Methodist Church was held on September 14, 1923.
The name of the group was "Women's Foreign Mission Society". On September 17, 1940, the group
changed their name to the "Women's Society of Christian Service". That name continued until 1974
when they changed the group name to "United Methodist Women" to better reflect the merging of the
Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethern Church.
Well done ladies!!! 101 years of service to the Church, the Community and throughout the World!!

Purpose: The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive, fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in global ministries of the church.
Meetings: Our monthly meetings are at 1:00 p.m. on the first Monday of every month (except June, July, and August) in the Flipside room. All women are invited to join us for fellowship, refreshments, program, and business meeting. Missions: Our primary fundraiser is our annual Cookie Walk which takes place the second Saturday of December. Our Church family and the surrounding community greatly support this endeavor. The money raised is used entirely for missions-50% goes to outreach missions and 50% is given locally. Some of the outreach missions that have received monies include the Friendly Center in Toledo, Worthington Children's Home in Columbus, Christmas food boxes for Henderson Settlement in Kentucky, Angel Tree prison ministry, St. Andrew Society for Hunger Relief, and VOSH a vision aid group. Local groups that have received monetary support include Together We Can Make A Difference, Henry County Infant Formula Program, Henry County Christmas Cheer, Henry County Salvation Army, and Country View Haven birthday gifts. |
